Half-day meditation retreats are offered on a nearly monthly basis and are an excellent opportunity to deepen your meditation practice.
There is no need to register and all are welcome to respectfully come and go as needed for the duration of the half-day, though full attendance is encouraged. Below is info for our next half-day.
Upcoming half-day retreat: Exploring the Noble Eightfold Path:
Date: Sunday, September, 30
Time: 12:30 to 4:30
Location: Aikido of New Orleans, 2134 Magazine Street, 3rd floor
The Eightfold Path is a foundational teaching of Theravada Buddhism. This offering will intersperse periods of sitting and walking meditation with discussion about this ancient framework for practice. The primary theme will be how to utilize Buddhist ideas about ethics, action, and wisdom, as guides along the path to liberation.
The offering will be facilitated by Dan Lawton, an experienced practitioner in the Theravada Buddhism tradition and a qualified instructor in Mindfulness-based-stress-reduction (MBSR).
No experience is necessary and there is no need to register ahead of time. This offering does not have a set fee. Participants are welcome to make donations to the facilitator. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
