Our focus is on the Insight Meditation practices of early Buddhism (samatha/vipassana), as they are being influenced by and are influencing our contemporary western culture.
We meet weekly for practice, study, and discussion. We can help you to get started in meditation and will provide support for your ongoing practice. Whether you are new to meditation or more experienced, you are welcome to join us at any time.
The tone of our meetings is friendly and casual. We have found that practicing in a group setting can be very supportive.
- We begin with formal meditation and then engage in dhamma study and discussion based on a short reading, which will be announced in our weekly email update. It is not necessary to do the reading to participate in and benefit from the discussion. Time permitting, we conclude with some metta practice.
- There are plenty of meditation cushions and chairs for you to use. If you have your own cushion, it would be helpful if you bring it with you.
- There is no charge for attendance. Donations (dana) are gratefully accepted.
